Event description

Finding Yourself Creatively Using The Tools

Whether you’re a Tools aficionado or just dipping your toes in, an established artist experiencing a block, burnout or just someone who’s been putting off expressing themselves creatively for a long time, this course is for you (and will be adapted to suit everyone’s needs!) Over the course of 6 weeks we’ll collaborate to introduce (or reintroduce) you to your creative shadow. We’ll find the ways in which your ego and part x hold you back from earnest expression or starting/continuing creative projects. We’ll work on being ok with the fact that the first version of any artistic project will suck. By the end of this course you will hopefully be more confidently in touch with your artistic voice and style (maybe it’s changed!) and more prepared to start new projects, accept their imperfections and even accept relevant notes from others while rejecting unhelpful ones. You may also end up choosing or reintroducing an artistic medium you’ve never tried!

I’m Hana Michels, a life coach trained in The Tools methodology pioneered by Phil Stutz and Barry Michels (and nepo baby evidenced by the last name)- but that’s not what qualifies me to teach this. What qualifies me is I’ve literally made every mistake possible when it comes to the arts, yet can’t escape them (it’s called a ‘calling’ for a reason, it doesn’t leave you alone!) I’ve found workarounds for so many pitfalls when it comes to creative expression for both myself and clients and if my various improv classes were more than just an expensive intro into a cult, I’ll find them for you too (including modifications to certain tools.).
